Julie Perlanski, MD,
MS, ABHM
I
have been a family physician for 20 years and feel privileged to share in
the lives of my patients. My first years of practice were in Nova Scotia. I moved to the U.S. in 1996 and over
the following years have worked in Little Falls and the surrounding
communities in the primary care setting.
As I became disillusioned with the limitation of
conventional medicine I began to attend several training programs at
Harvard's Mind / Body Medical Institute. In addition to the extensive
introductory course, I completed their advanced training in Cardiac
Rehabilitation, Infertility and Menopause. These experiences introduced me
to tools in patient care that are transformative for patients.
I have continued to seek further training in areas of
medicine that work with patients within their belief system, honoring all
aspects of health; physical, emotional and spiritual. I became Board
Certified in Holistic Medicine in 2001 and completed a Fellowship in
Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona in 2005.
In addition to the Fellowship, I completed the Botanical courses offered by
the University of Arizona on Women's Health.
Presently, I have a family practice in Little Falls,
New York, where I see patients from newborn to the elderly. I am also a
founding member of Collaborative Healing, a group of integrative health care
practitioners who combine conventional and alternative medicine. Together we
form a network of providers, philosophically aligned, who believe in the
value of compassionate relationships and that health is a cohesive balance
of mind body and spirit. Working with our patients we try to achieve this
balance. We are dedicated to leading the transformation of health care in
the Little Falls area by adhering to the philosophy of Integrative Medicine,
which is relationship centered and holistic, shifting the orientation of
medicine from one of disease to one of healing.
